// About Me

Robert Michael John Morris was born in Coventry in the very early hours of a Thursday morning and has recently woken up to find himself officially the wrong side of 30 and working as a consultant for an IT company specializing in Investment Reporting Software. Quite where the intervening years went he couldn’t say, but has a sneaking suspicion it’s a good thing he can’t remember.

Rob is a dogged advocate of pop culture in general, but anyone who knows him will vouch that he is far too obsessed with Doctor Who for it to be good for him. Thankfully he does have other interests, such as a deep rooted love of such wondrous series as The Avengers, Century Falls and Coupling to name but a few.

He also suspects he is the only person in the world - including its creator - who likes Chalk but feels that just goes to show that even a genius like Steven Moffat can be wrong occasionally.

When it comes to musical taste Rob’s can only be described as “camp”, with his favourite artists including The Human League, Kylie, Dragonette, Pet Shop Boys, ABBA, BWO and Girls Aloud. This is, however, tempered with more challenging material from the likes of Garbage, Ladytron, Client, the Readers Wifes and the Divine Comedy. If he’s totally honest, however, he’s still happiest when singing along to “Kinky Boots” or “Windmill in Old Amsterdam”.

Rob’s favourite comedian is Eddie Izzard (with Rita Rudner as a close second) and his favourite author is Christopher Rice (with Bill Bryson a creditable runner up).

If asked (which he never is) Rob will also happily state that his favourite film is Clue.

He also has a worrying tendency to write about himself in the third person so it’s probably quicker to just assume he’s an arse.

Writing

"Any writer, I suppose, feels that the world into which he was born is nothing less than a conspiracy against the cultivation of his talent."

James Baldwin
