An Apology to Miss Roberta Tovey

Following contact between Miss Roberta Tovey and the SAD Team, we wish to apologise for severely inappropriate content which has previously appeared on this site and has now been removed.

This website has run what can only be described as an offensive, ill thought out and tasteless attempt at satire which has caused considerable distress and anxiety for Miss Tovey, her family and friends. The "obituary" run was the result of an irresponsible and seriously misguided attempt at humour which we recognise has had very serious consequences which were not considered at the time.

We wish to make it absolutely clear that nothing in the article was based on any known facts, other than that Miss Tovey starred in two much loved and lavish Doctor Who films of the sixties. In particular she has never been married, never lived in Wiltshire and has certainly never had a restraining order against her.

The contributor of the piece, Robert Morris, apologises unreservedly for the emotional distress caused to Miss Tovey, her friends and family, and would like to make it clear that there was never any intent to cause any damage to her emotional well-being, reputation or career.

In hindsight the article shoud simply not have been run. It was extremely immature and in retrospect its content can only be described as defamatory.

Again, the SAD team extends their sincerest apologies to Miss Tovey and all who know her for this distressing and unpleasant occurrance.
