Yeah, well... regular visitors to the site may have noticed that there weren't any updates between February and September 2004. This was due to us being hard at work adapting the concept into a sitcom proposal for an entry into the BBC Talent 2004 competition. We didn't get short-listed - not much of a surprise given we were fairly sure what BBC3 were actually after - but we did make it into the final 10% of entries and apparently the judges were, in their words, "extremely impressed".
Well we've finished off the script for episode one and have almost finished the outline for the sixth and final episode with a view to touting it around a few places. We're looking at also reworking the content of this site into a radio version since that's often the way in these days. The benefot of a radio version would be that we could also re-use it for a small cabaret version too. The idea of dragging up as an old lady certainly has its appeal.
Well, it's visual for a start. The series as a whole only a couple of chapters from the site and treats them very differently. The opening is completely different taking place at a funeral of someone whose respective personalities have been different members of the two organisations. The series concerns itself with trying to fulfill the terms of her will to win an inheritance.
There's a fairly ecletic soundtrack. So far it contains the following:
- Miss Marple Theme - Ken Howard and Alan Blaikley
- Anarchy in the UK - The Sex Pistols
- The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You - Bryan Adams
- Making Your Mind Up - Bucks Fizz
- Smack My Bitch Up - The Prodigy
- Teddy Bear's Picnic - Jay Wilbur
- Time Flies By When You're The Driver of a Train - Gordon Murray
- The Locomotion - Kylie Minogue
- What an Atmosphere - Russ Abbot
- Waterloo - Abba
- Slow - Kylie Minogue
